Admission Notice 2011

Admission Notification to First Year of 3-Yr. Degree Course

[ B.Com.(Hons. & General) , B.A.(Hons. in English & Bengali) & B.A. (General)] for the Academic Session 2011 – 2012.

The College invites application in the prescribed form which is available in the college website www.agcbosecollege.org for Admission to 1st year : B.Com.(Hons. & General) , B.A.(Hons. in English & Bengali) and B.A. (General). The candidates are asked to submit the Admission Form online and follow the instruction for Form Submission. The admission is open to both Male & Female students.

Eligibility  Criterion :


1)   The  College admits a limited number of students who have passed 

Higher Secondary (10+2)  Examination or its equivalent Examination  in the 

year 2011. The candidate is eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of 3yr

B.Com. (Hons. & General) and B.A. (Hons. & General) Courses of Studies 

provided he/she has also  passed in English having Full Marks of not less than

100 and subject to  fulfillment of other conditions as laid down in the University

Notification No.-CSR/54/09 dated-24-11-2009.


2)    While  calculating the aggregate of Marks of a candidate, best of Four 

Subjects Passed is to be considered excluding Compulsory 

Environmental  Education/Studies. 


3)    Students  passed Patrachar / Correspondence Course / Open School are

not eligible for Admission to the course offered by the college.

    Necessary Documents:

Original Admit Card for Secondary Examination or Equivalent Examination for age verification of Age Proof.
Passport / Stamp Size Photographs – 2 (Two)
Mark sheet of H.S.(10+2) / or Equivalent Examination-2011.
SC/ST certificate in the name of the candidate for Reserve Category Seats, if applicable, from Competent Authority at the time of form verification/Submission otherwise the Application Form will be rejected.

General Information Regarding Admission

The applicants are advised to read the Admission Notification carefully and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for admission to the Degree Course for which they have applied.
If the College Admission sub-committee finds at any stage that the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criterion or that the information given by the candidate is incorrect or suppressed, the admission will be cancelled for which the College will not be liable to furnish any reason.
If the students take admission inadvertently, their admission will be cancelled subsequently and fees paid will not be refunded.
All admission will be treated as provisional subject to the Registration or approval of the University of Calcutta.
Regarding all admissions, the decision of the College Authority will be final and no further queries will be entertained after the Admission process in closed.
Bonafide SC/ST candidates will be given preference for admission under Reserve Category as per Govt. Rules.
Collection/Submission of application form for admission does not imply any right to admission in the course applied for.
